Finding names for songs can be a pain and sometimes also a bit of a stretch with instrumental music. Normally my projects are called "pop_zurich", "Ambient2.0" or "Dance1.7". Or sometimes it's the place I start the project in like "HeathrowSept", "LindenplatzLullaby" or "TowerOfPower". This is the only song that kept the project name as the song title.
I was at Jan's studio in Berlin putting the finishing touches on the album. Looking out the window I could see the full moon and I decided to start a new song just to clear my head. I had been working on the same 15 or so songs for months and felt like creating something new. By the end of the night this song was done. I didn't realize it at first because I am so used to spending weeks and months on a track that it didn't occur to me, that this could actually be finished. I just assumed I would keep working on it during the upcoming months. As the sun came up I saved the project as "FullMoon" and went home.
When I re-opened the file weeks later I listened through the song and was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I tried to work on it but no matter what I tried I ended up liking the original version better. I had to allow myself to like something I created in a short period of time with very little effort.
It is what it is.
I like it.
